Concrete driveway contractors in Ormond Beach and the curb cut permit
Nobody here gets a quick-permit lane for a driveway. The Land Development Code bars anyone from cutting or altering a curb, or opening a point of access onto a public road, without a permit. The Site Plan Review Committee approves it and the chief building official issues it. On state or county roads, FDOT or the county issues it instead. The city's own HB 803 page files driveways with the zoning work, issued as Land Development Code permits, so the under-$7,500 exemption doesn't cover them, even on a small replacement.
Want to pull the permit yourself as an owner-builder? The Building Division makes you sign the affidavit in person, notarized by city staff, and the property has to be titled to you, not a company or trust. We can take that off your plate: we apply on the city's online portal, track the review, book the inspections, and pour once the permit is in hand. Our permits guide shows how the pieces fit together across the county.
