Concrete patio contractors in DeLand file under the accessory structure permit
DeLand's Building Division puts patios and driveways under one permit type, Accessory Building or Structure, along with fences, retaining walls, screen enclosures, decks, gazebos, pergolas, sheds, detached garages and carports. A residential application costs $100 at submittal, and the fee is not refundable. You apply through the Accela Citizen Portal, and the city's slab checklist calls for a dimensioned site plan with setbacks. On grading, as-built surveys must show at least three extra spot elevations along each side lot line, so reviewers can spot humps or dips that block stormwater.
Two limits shape a patio here. The zoning code caps impervious surface by district, so we ask which cap your lot carries before we size the slab. Then there's HB 803, the 2026 law behind the under-$7,500 permit exemption. It leaves out structural work and any property partly or entirely in a flood hazard area.
